Modafinil reduces extreme sleepiness due to narcolepsy and sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea. It is also used to stay awake during working hours when your work schedule prevents you from having a normal sleep routine. Nevertheless, this medication does not cure sleep disorders or definitively resolve sleepiness problems.

Used to stay awake, concentrate and work better, Modafinil has also proved to be a highly effective cognitive stimulant, improving decision-making. It acts on certain brain chemicals that control the sleep/wake cycle, and has been shown to improve wakefulness, attention span and alertness.

Dosage is 200 to 400 mg a day in a single morning dose, or in 2 divided doses.
